YRDSB Google Camp 2013

On October 5, in the wee hours of Saturday morning, over 550 York Region teachers travelled from all across the region to attend the very first Google Camp hosted by the Digital Literacy Resource Teachers and Google. Among them were 13 Trudeau teachers, and 3 Trudeau Administrators all eager to learn new things and pass this learning on to their students.

Google Camp welcomed all levels of technology user–from the beginner teacher to the expert digital literacy teacher–and enticed us all with workshops on a wide variety of Google tools to use with our students and with our colleagues.

The main focus of the day was to introduce us to Google Apps for Education, a suite of cloud-based tools to facilitate and improve student learning.
